This past weekend I decided to make the drive up to Port Renfrew and while I was there check out Botanical beach. I made it up to Port Renfrew and it was very foggy, at times three was less than 50 meters of viability. My plans for finding some birds at Pachena bay where dampened by the fog a lots of people fishing for pink salmon so I decided to head down to Botanical beach.
Since it was high tide and was very foggy I didn’t really get any tide pool shots or and landscapes of the beach but I did manage to get some of the lush temperate coastal rain forest. This old growth rain forest is simply stunning and a must see for anyone.
After spending most of the day in Port Renfrew it was time to head back to Victoria. On the way back I made a few stops. My first stop was at one of the many rivers that cross the road.
Once again on the road I made another stop at Jordan river as the sun decided to to come out so I enjoyed the ocean view for awhile before making the final leg of the trip home.
Overall it was a fantastic day trip trip even if the weather was not the best you have to make the best out of it.
